DiData cements cloud investment with Acacia acquisition
Information technology company Dimension Data (DiData) has acquired Acacia Cloud Solutions, an Amazon Web Services (AWS) partner
and cloud implementation firm.In a statement, DiData says the acquisition cements its investment in cloud services and solutions that meet the digital transformation and hybrid cloud requirements of organisations in the Middle East and Africa.
In addition, the company says the acquisition will expand its AWS capabilities and provide
its clients with cloud managed services solutions that deliver relevant optimisation tools and speed to market.

Commenting on the acquisition, newly-appointed DiData CEO Werner Kapp says: “Our acquisition of Acacia Cloud Solutions, and our global relationship with our parent company NTT, enhance our ability to localise the delivery of cloud managed services, through significantly expanding our Managed Hybrid Infrastructure services offering.

With public cloud, on-premises legacy systems, and private cloud in operation, customer and organisational data sits across a variety of sources, including at the Edge, which means that keeping track of the logical and physical locations of data is paramount.

As part of the Dimension Data one brand strategy, Acacia’s employees will become part of DiData’s intelligent infrastructure practice.
The Acacia Cloud Solutions brand will formally retire on 1 October, and all its clients will become Dimension Data customers.
