Data centre survey goes live
A survey on data centres, being conducted in partnership with CommScope, has gone live on ITWeb.
The objective of the survey is to examine the current status of South African organisations’ data centres. It delves into local businesses’ modernisation plans for their data centres – and where cloud features in those plans.
Riaan Graham, director of enterprise for CommScope sub-Saharan Africa, says, “Data centres are evolving faster than ever before, not just technologically, but also strategically. Businesses are also doing more with their data centres than ever, from ever-expanding storage management to bandwidth-intensive virtualised and cloud applications.
“As global internet traffic is expected to increase up to three times by 2021, the key to meeting this challenge is the ability to evolve the physical infrastructure layer in the data centre. But how are businesses turning date centre disruption into business opportunity and are they focusing on the right infrastructure that solves tomorrow’s challenges today?”
This survey asks organisations about their planned data centre investment over the next 12 months, what is driving growth in data centre capacity and how often they review their data centre strategies.
We hope you’ll be able set aside a few minutes of your time to participate in the survey, and stand a chance to win a lucky draw prize, a Takealot voucher to the value
of R3 500. The detailed results of the survey, and the prize winner, will be published on ITWeb.To play your role in compiling this data centre trends report, click on the link below:
